What do you have to do to get fired around here?

The majority of voters apparently want Bush, and it's hard for me to wrap my head around that. My two little debate memories: Kerry ripping into Bush over the mess he's made of things. Bush in the third debate, sounding almost a little crazed and shouting "freedom's on the march!" It's as if the American people are saying that Bush's poor performance has raised the bar for anyone hoping to become president. Meanwhile, Bush gets to stay in office.

Yeah. I just don't get it.

That's what it is for me. Not just that the guy won -- ok, whatever, a President isn't a magic wand who can fix or break everything instantly -- but the disconnect between me and half the country.

Half the people in the country look at the job this guy did and say "way to go! I gots to get me some more of that."

I just don't understand that.

So it must be me, right?

Now that they're publishing polls explaining what mattered to voters (i.e. the social agenda), my confusion is being replaced with fear.
